From the very beginning, My Hero Academia has done its best to spark inspiration within its viewers. Whether it’s the Symbol of Peace and his unwavering smile and courage, or Izuku’s determination and bright-eyed enthusiasm despite being dealt an incredibly unfair hand in life, the series has no shortage of ways to help its viewers feel like they, too, can achieve anything.
This is true not only in character actions but in their words as well. After all, a true hero has to be able to inspire people not only by saving others and doing good deeds but also by having the ability to calm down and inspire others with their speech. There are a ton of super inspirational quotes to be found within the series to help motivate fans.
Even heroes can’t win every single battle. Even if they do, they might come out of it with irreparable scars. This is seen clearly after All Might’s first bout against All For One, where he’s left with a critical injury and can barely use his powers compared to before.
Despite this, he keeps a positive mindset and states that all experiences should be looked back upon and learned from. This is true whether they’re positive or negative moments, and it’s a great mindset to have.
After dealing with so much bullying stating he’ll never reach his ultimate dream, Izuku starts to believe them. Even the most positive person can begin to lose sight of their dreams if faced with enough adversity without any real support.
Thankfully, things change for the better for young Midoriya, and he ends up with a wide net of incredibly supportive peers who believe in him. He tells Bakugo that while he may not have as strong of a personal motivation, he has to try his best for those who support him. It’s a good message for anyone who might feel like they’re lacking motivation.
When fans get their first taste of Todoroki’s arc in Season Two, it’s clear that he’s allowed himself to become clouded with wanting to show his father he’s wrong. He can no longer remember the true reason he wants to become a hero, but he’s able to have this spark rekindled by Izuku.
When Iida later becomes clouded by revenge himself, Shoto yells that he has to stand up and keep the person he truly wants to become in his mind. It’s an inspiring message for any viewers who might not be living in a way that aligns with the type of person they truly want to be and is a good reminder to keep such things in mind.
Nana Shimura has an unwaveringly positive attitude. After all, she is the one responsible for teaching All Might that no matter how tough things get or how grim the situation looks, he should always keep a smile on his face.
It’s something that he takes to heart and makes sure to follow, and it’s a good message for viewers as well. Life can be full of scary and hard situations, but it’s always easier to deal with them if they smile and try to keep a positive mindset.
Everyone has days when they feel like they might not be good enough to achieve their dreams. Sometimes, this darkness can linger for days or even weeks. It’s easy to feel like giving up during these emotions, allowing such hopelessness to consume them.
However, Izuku says that even though he has days where he feels like he might fail, he doesn’t allow it to cause him to give up on his dreams. It’s a great message for anyone who might be struggling with a negative inner mindset.
Everyone has a personal limit that often feels impossible to overcome. Not everything in life is easy. At times, it’s easy to lack the energy to continue carrying through the days.
However, All Might states that someone’s reason for fighting can become their strength and continue carrying them onwards. It’s a great message for those who might be struggling or having a tough time — remember what keeps them going and the things they want to live for, and let that become a great source of inner strength.
Bakugo and Izuku’s fight against All Might is terrifyingly difficult, even after the two awkwardly begin working together. Even when All Might is holding Bakugo by the head and completely restraining him, Bakugo refuses to stop blasting him with mini-explosions despite the fact that he’s clearly broken and battered.
All Might asks him why he doesn’t simply stop to avoid hurting himself any further, but Bakugo snaps back that he doesn’t care how much he has to break himself if it means he can win in the way he chooses. Although it doesn’t apply in the exact same way, it’s a good message for fans to keep in mind — to do things the way they want even if it’s more painful than an alternate route.
When it comes to learning new things, picking up the task can seem daunting or even downright boring. Most people want to rush to achieve something complicated or impressive, and oftentimes end up skipping over the basics.
However, Momo states that if one wants to learn something, it’s best to devote oneself wholeheartedly and start with the basics. Coming from someone as driven and intelligent as Momo, it’s a great message to keep in mind. Even people who are masters of their craft have to start by mastering the basics, and it’s something that should be dived into with excitement rather than dread.
Sometimes, it’s easy to get far too caught up in all of the tragedy and suffering in the world. It can even be enough to make someone feel as if trying to help anyone or make any kind of positive impact isn’t worth it since someone else will always be suffering.
However, Izuku holds the mindset that everyone should do their best to help those they can help precisely because there will always be people who can’t be helped. It’s an inspiring message — that people should do their best to help those that they’re able to, instead of negatively fixating on the people they’re unable to help.
No matter who someone is or how much support they have, there may come a point where they feel as if they’re all alone. If these low points manifest as feeling a lack of a support system or being unable to lean on others, it’s easy to feel all alone in the world.
A simple statement from Uraraka — “You are not alone” — proves otherwise. Despite its simplicity, those words can often be the most powerful shining light of inspiration at times when people feel like there’s no one on their side.
