Instagram has rolled out a new feature called Notes that allows friends to send short snappy messages for 24 hours – so here’s a round-up of the 21 best quotes to make you the most entertaining friend.
Instagram Notes allows friends to communicate in a more casual manner with snappy messages for just 24 hours. After months of testing, Meta discovered users enjoyed sharing their thoughts in lightweight ways that were less pressurizing compared with traditional direct messages (DMs).
Think of it as small talk rather than a long conversation – minus the social awkwardness.
Rather than using it to chat, some users are using Notes to post their best quotes ranging from funny to inspirational. Here are some ideas for your next Note.
“I have learned not to allow rejection to move me” – Cicely Tyson
“We will fail when we fail to try” – Rosa Parks
“It’s ok to miss people and still not want them back in your life.”
“If it’s out of your hands, it deserves freedom from your mind too” – Ivan Nuru
“Talk about your blessings more than you talk about your problems.”
“No one talks about how lonely healing can feel” – We The Urban
“Don’t sit down and wait for the opportunities to come. Get up and make them” – Madam C J Walker
“What if we told you… you can eat without posting it on Instagram?”
“Don’t bother replying. You’d be wasting the internet.”
“The person beside me is an idiot.”
“No paparazzi, please.”
“This message failed to send.”
“Hey Alexa, can I un-update Instagram Notes?”
“Life is short and so is this message.”
“At least it’s not a hurricane.”
“My nose is frozen.”
“Does shivering count as exercise?”
“It’s too cold to dress cute.”
“Wake me up when it’s summer.”
“If you need me, I’ll be inside until April.”
“Hibernation mode: On.”

Most Instagram fans aren’t using it the way Meta intended; instead, they’re treating it like AIM Away messages and MSN statuses. You know, in the 1990s and early 2000s when your parents forced you off the computer so you had to tell your school friends you were temporarily gone.
It’s so nostalgic, and that’s why we’re not mad about Notes, and neither are these Twitter users.
“Instagram Notes is so funny like, if you’re not treating it like AIM then wyd?” one fan tweeted.
Another agreed: “Instagram Notes is actually mad funny now that we made it a homage to AIM and BBM away messages. Don’t pay attention to the losers putting sexual s*** on theirs. Their target audience are grade-A losers.”
Who could forget BBM (Blackberry Messenger)?
